Among those churches,
temples and hermitages we can find the Church of la Merced; Parish of St.
Joseph Cathedral, Temple of San Francisco, Sanctuary of Santo Hermano Pedro;
Temple of the School of Christ; and Hermitage of the Holy Calvary.
Also, the Church of St.
Peter the Apostle, attached to Social Works of Santo Hermano Pedro, an
organization dedicated to charity and human promotion.
However, not all buildings
resisted earthquake, so some churches, temples and monasteries were destroyed,
and are currently in ruins. Among those buildings there are some that are open
to the public, that way visitors can see, in that ruins, the style of
construction, type of structures, frontages, carved pillars and columns, fine
stucco designs, niches, capitals, the sculptures, the size of the place,
environments, the main cloister surrounded by arched columns, some fountains
and gardens, all of colonial architecture.
